Western NY | Completely blank slate to work from looking for suggestions. Me and my father started farming seven years ago. Own sand a gravel operations and couldn’t get a mining permit on a 300 acre piece and started farming. ( wouldn’t even consider mining farmland today). My father doesn’t wanna receive any of the money due to other entities having conflict of interest. I rent all his land and use some of his equipment. We are only a small 1000ish acre coc farm. My question is before I sign on the dotted line with govt, do I have to have my fathers name on paperwork due to renting some of his land and sharing equipment. USDA office says I have a complicated situation and need to talk to lawyer and acccount( which I will). Just looking for your guys opinion. TIA..... love this site it gives a dumbass farmer like me 60 years of knowledge just going thru every post | |
