North Central OH | Anyone ever hear of paying rent to the landowner on a piece of property that you bought from them in that same year?
Have a farm that we rent go up for auction in March. Due to covid-19 was rescheduled to April. The tillable dirt was split into two parcels. I have some wheat planted on both parcels. We bought one . The rent was never mentioned prior to auction by the owners or the auctioneer. Didn't know quite what to think about that. Got a message from the sellers last night wanting half year rent money on both parcels for the acres I have wheat on.
Never heard of paying rent on property that you own. Trying to figure out the right thing to do. | |
