Kingston,Mi | Use 11 axles total, there are many NAT posters from Michigan that operate these units as either break up doubles or large singles. Certain operators in Michigan pull 3 hopper Titan trailers with 7 axles under the trailer and a haul capacity of 1800 bu. of corn. Ontario and Quebec also run 10 axle loads.
Edit: search for "Michigan Special" in machinery talk, a thread will come up with comments and pictures from Michigan and Ontario by Hillfarmer,Thud and SteveMifarmer. Steve posted a picture of an 8 axle dump trailer operated by ZFS, a soybean crusher on the Holland side of Michigan that shows soybeans heaped above the trailer sides prior to rolling the tarp. I generally get ask to judge the National Corn Growers contest for a local farmer. They operate 2 or 3 Freightliners and a Western Star with a lift axle between the cab and tandems. They have 6 and 7 axle aluminum dumps of the 1500 bu. capacity and scale between 43,000 and 45,000 empty so their net weight of corn, soy wheat or sugar beets is around 80,000 pounds.
