| Half gallon recipe..
1 1/2 cups sugar
tbls corn starch
2 cups 1/2 and 1/2
1 1/2 cup milk
combine...heat to 150 deg , stirring constantly
add 4 mildly beaten eggs...slowly
heat till the mixture coats the back of a spoon
place in ice water in sink...add 2 cups heavy cream and 2 tbls vanilla
Stirring constantly...
Place in bowl and into the freezer for 2 - 2 1/2 hours
Melt 4 tbls of real butter ... add 3/4 finely chopped pecans...let bubble for a bit...set aside
Take out mixture and add pecans
using your freezer instructions, churn for 30 minutes..
Consistency should be like a thick milk shake
Freezer overnight will give you some really good butter pecan icecream...home made... | |
