After talking to AgExpress and also my Trimble guy, it was suggested that I try a different port on the monitor to run FIQ from.
That seems to have solved the issue.
Even if I switc back to 'bad' implements, even they now work as they should, FIQ recognizes them... in the shop.
Crossing my fingers, it's just something bad in port A of my monitor.
