Very good point. I missed addressing that.

To add to what you said, there is only about a teaspoon equivalent of sugar in our bloodstream. If we eat any more than that at one time, the excess has to be dealt with by the body either burning it, storing it as glycogen in the muscles (if they are deficient as during exercise) or store it as fat.

A teaspoon is not much and a banana or apple has multiple teaspoons of sugar.

Berries are the lowest in sugar content. But even those need to be in limited quantities if a person is trying to stay under 20 grams of carbs a day.
