Subject: Mules are one solution for coyote and bear problems

Too close to Raleigh, NC
Seems like every pasture of beef cattle up in the hills of SW Va around where my folks live has at least one mule in it. Their neighbor runs cattle on a bunch of land in that corner of the county and he has quite a few mules and very few coyote problems from what I have heard. With the isolated small pastures spread all over the hollows and the fencing usually extending up into the wooded edges there is plenty of opportunity for the more aggressive wildlife to ambush some unprotected beef.

Biggest issue I have with them is when they get to braying and won't shut up when I am up a tree stand within a quarter mile of them. Racket could raise the dead sometimes.
