Gilroy 35 Miles Over the Hill From Santa Cruz | My Dad would go to the Desert in the 60's and rope the wild ones.
His friend was a Calf Roping Champ. _ He'd catch one - go down the line - throw and tie it.
Dads friends tell the story:
Dad Rope this big Jack - Bailed off and started down the line - the Jack took one look and started up the Line - dad says "all I could see was Teeth"! - his horse must have seen the same thing and Left the Country with Dad hanging onto the rope in the middle.
I hear it was real Funny - that Jack with teeth chasing him (in the middle) and his run away horse.
Dad says he was hanging on-to the rope and covering 20' with each step...
