Hard to say not being there, but most of these types of "problems" are not problems at all. Just kids trying to figure out how the world works. Probably one of those things that the more anxiety and frustration you portray about it the worse it will get.
I'd recommend ignoring it for a while. Probably will get tired of how nasty everything tastes and will quit.
