I have a Brother 7820N that I really like.  Its a b&w laser printer,copier, and fax.  Has a sheet feeder when making more than one copy or sending more than a one page fax.  Also it can be hooked directly to your network with a network cable or it has a usb connection too. I got mine for around a $100 refurbished at Staples.  I had an inkjet Brother printer very similar and got tired of buying cartridges all the time.  The laser cartridges sure last a lot longer and are much cheaper per page of use.
