Say, you are polite Topshot! I have a large bulb horn handy by the phone and give it a few strong parps before hanging up.
Last time I started to participate in one of these calls, it became apparent that it was not a "survey" but rather a promotion for a particular brand. A question of "what brand do you use" soon became "did you know Acme brand controls Elephant Ear?"
