Kingston,Mi | With 8 of us at the dinner table, Mom baked nearly every day. 7 or 8 lunches to pack for school or work and if my paternal Grandparents came for dinner, bread on the table. Granddad would take his serving as the serving dishes were circulated and if bread wasn't 1 of them , sit patiently until Mom noticed he wasn't eating. "Sorry, Dad, I forgot the bread" and would cut another loaf. It is said in the family that the only thing Granddad didn't eat bread with was pie. | |
