Texas | redoak,
During my teen years I had cut Dad's hair a few times.
My dad does not have tons of hair left, but what he has was looking shaggy. After hearing him complain several times about not being able to go to his barber, I finally volunteered.
There was a lot of: "Ok, I trimmed a little more. Is this what you want?" Then he would look in the mirror and tell me what else he wanted trimmed. We repeated that a few times.
Dad ended up being happy with the job I did, and I was relieved that he was.
