Subject: Scrapers or not on seed openers?

Leesburg, Ohio
Just rebuilding our 1770NT with new seed opener discs and no-till coulters.
It came new with straight-blade scrapers on the outside of the openers inside the gauge wheels. They were well worn after 6000 acres, and were slightly wearing into the opener blades.
I used to use the round/rotating scrapers, and occasionally had one come off or wear off during the season, and would just pop them off in the field and keep planting. This is the first planter we have had that came with the straight scrapers.
We decided to leave them off entirely this time, since we never seemed to have issues running without a few, before.
We are normally very careful about not planting when it is too wet, but who knows?

What is your opinion on running without scrapers?
