Grain drills are pretty easy to pull, not like no-til drills. And the selection can be limited when looking for older used drills. Around here most guys stayed with 8' or 10' so they could pull the down the road easier. We bought a 12' JD that worked its way to eastern MN from the Dakotas a long time ago. Many of the wide ones were bought by jockeys and exported to other countries years ago. I'd think he'd be happy with a 10' grain drill unless he plans on doing a lot of acres. Its grain drill season so they're pretty expensive right now.
