| I just bought a used Ridgid 300 pipe threader 6 months ago as we had a few large gas line jobs to do with black iron pipe. Can thread from 1/2 - 2" I believe. We had a have a hand threader my father has had for many years but when doing larger jobs it is time consuming and obviously the larger the pipe the harder it is to thread by hand. I had considered the Milwaukee pony threader but figured for roughly the same amount of money I'd be further ahead in the 300. With the Milwaukee pony threader a guy still has to have a pipe vise, reamer, and a cutter. Didn't figure a guy would save all that much time compared to an all in one unit. FWIW if I could ever find a nice 300 Compact threader I would by all means buy that as it is on a collapsible cart and looks far easier to transport compared to the standard 300. That would be far more convenient for us taking it to jobsites but I don't need to break the bank on it either. | |
