There is really no penalty like there can be in the automotive field. Some car dealers used to falsify mileage and previous damage but now I would feel comfortable buying a less than 100K mile car as the penalty is severe and title states that things are correct .Tractors you need to do a little homework or have a knowledgeable person inspect it.Any tractor that has under 5000 hours shouldnot be repainted.I know of dealers that have ruined their reputation by being dishonest. To me it is easy to tell but I have been fooled a few times. Before you pay for something is time to ask questions and have it checked out as once the payment is made it is usually yours.I prefer to buy from owner and lower houred nice originals are worth more but they can all have problems.
