I would try a new wax ring on the toilet for a few dollars too. I’ve heard of that problem a few times.
The previous owners had installed a tile floor and didn't use a thick enough wax ring in the guest room. The anchor screws loosened up a bit on the toilet and we'd get that smell from time to time. Installed a new thick ring and it solved the problem |
