Subject: RE: PJ Gooseneck opinions

I bought a new 30 ft tandem dual w/12 k alco axles--drum bakes w/235x16 tires.the tires lasted very well and when we needed to replace them the cooling fins on the drums had swelled so bad we had to lay the wheels on the ground spray them with rust cutter and beat on them with a 12 lb, sledge and a chopper shear bar--some more than 20 min. apiece.never, never should this combo of brake drum rim be used together--should have been 19.5 wheels--didn,t know better. also the wiring and lights are a nightmare.structurely the trailer is equipped with the extra strength options available at that time and has lasted well--floor is still good.
