Subject: RE: Converting PTO post hole Auger to skid loader hyd Drive ??

Southeast MN
I built one from scratch- used the same hydraulic motor from my home made brush mower.

It isn’t anything like a commercial unit but for the cost and little use I have it sure beats a digging by hand.

I will get a picture later for you

Edit to add: don’t have any action photos. The hydraulic motor came from surplus center. I took the flow rate from the owners manual and used the calculator on surplus center website to size the motor to output 600 rpm.

The gearbox and auger came from agrisupply.

I have a 3pt adapter plate for the skid loader and bought/ modified a 3pt receiver hitch to use as a skeleton for the digger. I have about $500 and 4 hours into it.

I share the motor between this digger and a rotary mower.
