Southeast Colorado | This thread definitely reaffirms your post from a few days ago. And it all stinks.
I know personally I'm trying to figure out cattle deals and swapping corn acres for sudangrass and grazing/baling options. But I know in the back of my mind that I have to be leery of MFP type payments skewing the outcome. I just know that the all important corn acres will be subsidized.
I've gotten myself into the financial position that it's about impossible to forego the govt payments. My Dad had gotten to where he didn't set foot in the FSA office for the last 5 to 10 years he farmed. I'd love to get there............but for some reason my history shows I've trended to the opposite of that. Damn. | |
