many years ago there was a song, Midnight at the Oasis.  Maria Muldaur was the singer and it was nominated for a Grammy.  Then I think it was on Johnny Carson that she appeared live.  She was horrible.  Song sounded nothing like the one we heard on the radio.  From then on I knew that music on the radio was pretty much created in a sound studio.  Really impressed when you hear a live performance by a singer and they sound the same as the hit.
