As stated, a very good explanation.

Is it possible that that is the reason that China is getting back to normal? The virus spread so rapidly before they locked down everything that enough of their population were already infected that they are now built up to herd immunity levels?

If that is true then as some have been stating it does make a lot more sense to speed up the process in the general population while perhaps quarantining, or choosing to self quarantine, those that are more vulnerable.

It’s in interesting dilemma that likely has no clear cut right answer.

Yes it’s pragmatic to get everyone infected more or less at once and get it over with in 2-4 weeks. But that would be Armageddon. Everyone too sick to work. No hospitalization would exacerbate the death rate to what....10% of the population dead in 30 days? Lots of farm land up for sale.
