| There was a guy here locally a few years ago. He was a few years younger than I and for what ever reason had a disorder, similar to a gambling addiction or something like that. Dont know how or why he aquired it, but he stuck a lot of people including retired folks for a couple million dollars. He would declare he'd found a secret to making money on wall street. He was smooth and people would write checks.........nothing came about and his hand was forced. Did I mention he was smooth? He came up with an excuse and convinced people that he could turn it around. More checks came to him......nothing. Eventually the law was brought in. He finally had to admitt that he was completely broke and had spent the money living the high life to gain friends in the elite income group.
He died part way through all the investigations at about age 40 and the people that sent the money had no recourse.
Point being, sometimes its a legit idea to stay tuned to the where-abouts of someone that may be a poser. Would be even better if a guy could get him/her some help before it is too late. | |
