SC Iowa | In all engines the pistons going up are traveling at a different speed than the pistons going down, in a 4 cylinder you have 2 of each at the same time in the same plane so it is way more noticeable. This is do to the angle of the rod (the 2 pistons at the bottom of the stroke are slower than the ones at the top). Many 4 cylinder cars got away with it by using very soft motor mounts, when they went to front wheel drive with transverse mounted engines it helped the "feel" even more. | |
