They are using futures prices to calculate inflation now instead of retail prices? Ahhh that explains it LOL. Has anyone priced a new 4wd pickup truck lately?
Ha no! The low futures prices are because of the low inflation not the cause of the low inflation.
New pickups are so expensive today because they are so much nicer and better now than they have ever been with their 9 speed transmissions or whatever and heated and cooled leather seats and xm bluetooth stereos and every other do-dad they have. This is called an hedonic adjustment. Also manufacturers and dealers will charge what they can get for them because pick ups are awesome vehicles.
