Southeast WI | Yeah I knew this was going to come up when I posted that. Schooling is much, much more beyond the classroom learning. I got way more out of college working in the labs interacting with professors and grad students. Learned way more sitting around my co-op house talking to other housemates and visitors. Stay home when young being home schooled then go and do online classes for college and what is your breadth of learning and experience? I'll give you the answer. It's narrow and limited. If my daughters were taught by me they would know what I know, obviously could know more from online curriculum but they will still have my bias. That is wrong. They need to have a home base of experience but go out and learn on their own. I read on here that's a bad thing when kids learn other ideas. That can and does happen when you shelter your kids. | |
