I also have problems. The stretching that helps me is to lie on your back bend your knee and bring it forward to the opposite shoulder. You should feel the stretch through your gluteal muscles. You can put link your hands just above the knee to pull leg further toward shoulder and hold for a few seconds. If it is bothering me, stretching first thing in the morning is helpful, afternoon and again in the evening.

Another thing that helps is to press and hold pressure on that spot in your hip-butt area that hurts. Hold pressure there till that muscle relaxes. I have sat on a wallet or tennis ball when driving, really helps.
