Subject: RE: B-17 during combat question

Embarrass WI
My Dad was a B-17 pilot in WW2, he was an instructor most of the war but got shipped into combat in January 1945. One of his crew members wrote a story about one of their first missions. They termed it a "milk run", as in, not weaned yet. My Dad flew 24 missions, lost 2 crew members and had 3 planes that got the crew home but did not fly again.
