Subject: What is a living wage?

SCIA
For generations, living meant working from sun to sun, but today, 30 hours is to much for some people to work? So, I ask what do we base a living wage on? In times past, a man worked two jobs and the woman sewed, cooked, canned, spun, knitted, darned, made candles and a million other things that were needed to keep her family clothed and fed. Now, two income families are the norm, because, anything over 40 hours is too much and every body wants 60" TVs with Hulu Netflix Direct TV, smart phones with unlimited text talk and data, for themselves and their 1.8 kids. Two cars, a SUV to pull their boat to the lake, where their 1500 square foot cabin sits on an acre lot. For the winter, two snow mobiles and time to spend in snow country. All this on 80 hours a week, it will never work.
