Probably going to sound stupid but I can't resist asking.

Why should touching my face be a problem when I live in my own house at least a quarter of a mile from the nearest person ?

When I get the mail I wear gloves. I leave the mail out of the house for a day and wipe down everything I touch when getting the mail.  That's the extent of my contact.
