Really? We've been affected by this virus in a meaningful way for what... 10 days now? If everyone would just follow the recommendations we could bring the spread to a halt in what.. another 3 weeks? Yes the economy is going to take a hit but the sooner we get things under control the sooner the economy can begin to recover. The longer people refuse to follow the recommendations the greater the long term effect is going to be on the economy.
The spread of this virus can not be brought to a halt. Not in 3 weeks, not in 3 months, not likely in 3 years. Maybe never.
