Last year 2.8 million people died in the US. If you want to see how look here.
https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/fastats/deaths.htm
So, if we just go back to work and don't worry about anything the scientist THINK about 60% would be infected fairly soon. .6 times 330 million people give or take 200 million or so cases. Of those 200 million people they THINK maybe as many as 1/2 wont even know they had it. Of that 100 million or so only MAYBE 20% or 20 million might need medical care. Here is where the real sketchy part comes in death rate is 1 to 4% of some number MAYBE. Right now in the US we are not doing a great job at treatment. For every 6 that have recovered 4 have died.
1% of 200 million is 2 million extra dead mostly old people and ones that had under lying health conditions. On the high side we flood the hospitals to the point that they have to pick and chose which ones to try to save and the dead numbers reach 5 million old sickly people gone are you OK with this result?
After all we did not even notice the over a million deaths last year from heart attacks and cancer.
