Subject: RE: Nursing home

central - east central Minnesota -

Contact the County health department - nurse. Most likely, they have people that know the place and likely the situation. You maybe the POA (Power of Attorney), that DOES NOT make you a health expert on what is best for the persons health and direct care. Very, very big difference between POA and having the ability, experience and skills to make decisions on someone's health condition and needs. Even those with the skills/experience don't always get it right (maybe why you have some questions about the current facility/care)? Believe me, you don't have any magical powers to know better then those at the facility.
You Have NOT let the person down . . . .
You need the expertise of a independent health person to evaluate the situation (That's what county human services should be able to provide). Contact that counties health and human services department. And as someone else mentioned, local clergy (they visit such places regularly).

To those that have provide services to relatives and were able to care for them to the end - congrats to you, good job - BUT, you are in NO position to JUDGE this situation or AgTalk member asking about it. Take your judgmental reply's down (hit the DELETE button top right of the post).
