I'm betting on the harness. Be careful if you try to remove the connector on the STTM to the planter monitor harness.. It is very common to break the latch. The problem seems to be that the outer shell of the STTM case does not allow the connector to be pushed down enough to release the tab and it breaks quite easily. Fortunately the plug will "stick" quite well even without the locking tab especially if one uses some tie bands to handle any potential strain on the connector.

My STTM got mounted on my CCS stairs which is right above row #13. When removing this seed box, the wiring can get hit. I installed a small plastic tool box and was able to put the STTM inside it for protection. The box is mounted sideways on the planter with the bolts going through the STTM and the bottom of the tool box into the CCS steps. I cut a couple of notches for the wires om the side. The lid on the box is latched so as to protect the connection inside.
