Northwest Illinois | We are in the process of selling hogs out of our building. Although we spoke for dates over a month ago and had confirmed delivery dates, we get an e-mail almost daily either "postponing" loads, changing dates or changing plants due to employee sickness. I am afraid this is just the beginning. Right now, there is no leeway in the pork supply chain. If the packer backs up, finishers back up and can"t take weaners on schedule. What is the solution? Destroying weaner pigs when there is no place for them to go? | |
