So, how many random samples do they need to be meaningful? 1000? 10,000?

Do we collect them from NYC, or middle of Wyoming? Ok needs to be random, so 1000 people from each state, 50000 samples?

You have someone drive through each state and sample, or have people all report in to one location? Which way will or won’t spread the virus? Would you randomly go to a hospital to get samples if your number came up?

New York will likely say they are kinda busy to bother.

And so on.

I agree it will be helpful to know and I very much agree we have no idea, but as long as beds are so full in some cities, and it appears to be getting worse yet, then maybe treating people and preparing to treat people is more important than setting up a testing procedure. We are sort of in chaos here, it might be more difficult to find a random sample than we think in that?

I don’t know. Just 2 sides to the coin I guess. Not disagreeing, just trying to sort it out myself.
