If you have to ask yourself what is "right" or "moral" or "too far" or have to "wrestle" -- then you sound wishy washy. Can't have it both ways....
I have curtailed and changed my habits around my older parents. Yes - keep your distance at 6-10 feet. Don't step foot in a closed environment (house/shop)/keep all discussions outside so air dilution to virus pollution. Use phone. I borrow their loader tractor to feed my cows.... I am the last one in it at night so that I give allow some "time" for virus to die over night before dad/mom use tractor to chore the next morning. Only thing I now need to add is to start wearing a bandana / mask to trap the breath/mouth droplets from becoming more air-born when I am proximity with them.
Frankly - we all take family for granted. your LOL about killing your mother could unfortunately come true if you don't change your mindset...
Sorry for the lecture but you had better start putting boundaries up before it's too late.....
