The military's biggest mistakes are training to fight the last war. That's what South Korea's public health system did, and they got lucky to fight the same war again. Comparing South Korea and Singapore to the US isn't very useful, the US public, healthcare system and govt. were never going to behave like those countries.
Okay, we can’t expect the US to have acted responsibly, I get it. But we have seen what works now, we have seen what doesn’t. What works is MUCH cheaper, MUCH more humane. There are many parts of this country that are at the beginning of this, similar to where New York City was, similar to where South Korea was two months ago. Why can’t we do what South Korea did, do it now, and get back to business/work/normal in short order? |
