coast of Maine | Being in an area with tiny fields it amazes me how much some worry of straight rows, auto guidance, population and spacing to the exact, fertilizer to the exact spot ,exact soil tests tied to fertility in fields etc.,Here as we rotate veg/fruit small sloping variable soil fields if I was to do anything but shotgun it with fert/population estimates/data needed and time wasted would yield zero more profit. So are there farmers still doing it old school and getting same $ out at the end?I realize efficientcy is what some will say saves them $ but does it make a difference? Friend near me spends days setting up his exact plant systems for various crops on smaller fields and we make same $ in the end. | |
