Floyd County, Iowa | I got along OK with f-i-l, after the first few dates with his daughter. Got along great with him after I married her.
But m-i-l, not so much, especially at first. She had a different picture for her daughter's husband, but we ended up getting along. She told my b-i-l's wife that I turned out OK, so..................
My wife got along better with my folks than I did, LOL. She was their "only daughter" (my Mom's words), and she could do no wrong, in my Dad's eyes.
Sadly, both sets of our parents are gone, now, and I miss them all.
eta: We've been married for 44+ years. Will be 45 years this fall.
