I guess I didn't make that distinction. I suggested creating a new prescription where the map was a grid, not editing the layer as a grid. Try this.
1. Make a map of the old planting data
2. ADD to that map whatever layer you are trying to make a prescription from (yield, or soil test etc). Set the transparency to 50%
3. make it into a grid map
4. make a NEW prescription layer using the rates you want, and match to the legend of the data in step 2
5. when you get to the final screen where you see a full map of your prescription set the transparency to 50%, and you should see the planting data from step 1
6. use the paint can on the left to make the different rates where you need to, and save
I suppose depending on the base data you imported to SMS, some of these steps won't make sense, so in that case you need to add more details (and perhaps screenshots). thanks nei, sorry about the confusion. I will give that process a shot tonight for sure. |
