Home schooling here is a joke. My kids are finished in 2 hours.
Smaller student to teacher ratio, lol. If each teacher only had a few students to work with I'm sure they'd fly through the lessons as well. Not sure what age your kids are, but in elementary school you throw in a couple recesses, lunch, guidance, music, and taking little Johnny to the principal and your 8 hours of school gets cut down to 3-4 pretty quick. A chunk of that is also used for repetitions of the content so the kids actually retain it. I'm sure there are some homeschooling parents just doing the skill once and move on.
I don't mind working with my kids, but I think they listen better to their school teachers.
