A lot of the USA refineries are set up to process the light oils of the world, not so much the heavy oil of North Dakota and Canada.
North Dakota does not have "heavy oil" you must be thinking of tar sands oil from Canada because the stuff from North Dakota is nothing like that, knew a guy who's family had oil wells in western ND and had a Gatorade bottle on his desk of ND crude it wasn't much thicker than the used oil taken out of a tractor/truck would look like and basically the same color. |
