Subject: RE: Educated Trial & Error

South Carolina
The monitor does not specify the units of the calibration number
The number in it now is 59- I guess this was a factory preset?
I found a website that says John Deere lists 57.4 Hz per mph as a starting point for that radar
I am going to try and see if speed on monitor matches tractor speed
I can't do much trial and error in field since monitor is also the planter controller
Just 1 acre with 60000 seeds vs 30000 would be a $100+ mistake
Radar just quicker to adjust than GPS
We have been planting several days but know the ends are too thick due to slower speeds just before/after turning--hope radar will help this
