Subject: Educated Trial & Error

Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn.
A suggested value for many Deere planter monitors is around 7800 as I recall. I would try that value as a test to see if you get a speed indication on the planter monitor. Most monitors except for Raven divide by the speed cal number.

If you get speed but it is incorrect compared to something you trust, you can adjust the speed cal number to something better. If you tried 7800 and the indicated speed on the planter monitor is low then try 7750 which should make the indicted speed a bit faster. Through trial and error you should be able to get a decent speed cal number.

When you finish planting a field of which you know the true acres, you can use the indicated acres compared to the true acres to make an adjustment also.
