I would suggest just getting a separate hotspot and spending the $10-20/month for it or a separate SIM card for your tablet. I will say i have Verizon and use the hot spot quite often for work and stuff and I'm pretty sure an incoming call or text does not interrupt the hot spot streaming. I can perform all the actions on my phone and the hot spot will stay connected to the laptop.
