Subject: Latest Information

Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn.
I got eMail this morning from someone who read my post. He uses his 750 with his planter and ran into the same problem. He was in a bind because he got the out of memory error message while planting last year. He learned that the procedure seems to be: delete the undesirable fields as instructed by the screen prompts as I did. The fields do not actually disappear at that time but are marked. Then do a save or backup to a USB stick. Apparently the deleted fields are not copied to the USB stick and it at this point that they actually disappear. Then do a hard reset which will clear the memory to its original condition. Then restore the memory from the USB stick. At that point all configurations settings and non deleted fields will reappear. Those fields that were marked as deleted will not reappear.

This seems like it should be unnecessary although I have no reason to doubt his suggestion as I've seen a somewhat similar situation with other displays. Apparently adding a new item is easier than trying to get rid of an old one. I recall with the early Ag Leader displays that removing a field did not really cause the other fields to "move up".

I thanked the gentlemen for emailing me directly with this information. He indicated that he does not care to reply on the forum for fear of being put down by other posters. I replied that I understand his reluctance as Ag Talk is not the nice kind place it once was. I suppose this is somewhat inevitable as the number of users increases.

Especially in these times, let's be kind to each other. If you disagree please be respectful of the other poster rather than reply with some unkind remark.
