Subject: Is an atu worth it for me question

I farm between 550 and 700 on any given year. Alone with full time off the farm job. Do alot in the dark, planting and spraying late into the night if need be.
Fields vary in size. Largest is around 70 with some fence rows. Mostly 30 acre fields but some 10 or less. Around 22 fields in total. It's looking to be around 10 to 11k to set my 8220 up with a atu unit. For example Deere quoted 11k for a 300 atu with 6000 globe and 2630.
Agleader was around 10k for similar equipment.
I'm not hooking my drill to it because I will be updating that next year if all goes decent this year and what's on it won't talk to really anything else without updating harness.
Basically I just want auto steer function for now.
I know there are those who can't live without it and those who can. My question is for those who have it that are similar to my situation is it Less stress? More productive? Easier on the operator?
If you are similar to me and have it is it worth it? Would you do it again?
Just looking for feedback to help me make a decision.
Tia everyone
