This might be better in Stock or another forum .

When you a call from your packer that due to labor shortage (CV 19) we have to close until further notice your heart kinda stops, not just for us but the hog plant we go to is smaller ,family owned, managed and been around 108 yrs. Thankful for the Ontario Pork board & Finley trucking as they found a home for the hogs. We could have held them for 2 weeks but then either euthanize all new borns or something.

The only thing worse than poor price is no market.

With Covid 19 , just in time delivery , large livestock/dairy farms , any hiccup is bad.

See the same with the horticulture/veggie/orchard farms now depending so much on foreign labor , export markets.

Covid 19 has shown Canada/US how vulnerable we are , can u imagine a couple dirty bombs knocking out power grid , it would be instant chaos.

Now good news, family is all healthy ,thank ful for all service providers operating under tough environment when it would be easy to close up ,,,and especially the Health providers putting there and there families lives in danger everyday....everyone keep safe-physically and mantally
